The Government of Goa, on September 9, 2026, notified measures for facilitating the implementation of the Amended BharatNet Programme (ABP) across Goa. The notification provides for treating electricity connections established at Gram Panchayats and villages under ABP as Government Connections, in accordance with the Ministry of Power’s directions dated January 13, 2026.
The notification introduces a Common Application Form (CAF) for electricity connection requests relating to ABP, allowing a single centralised application to cover multiple electricity connections required at different project locations. It also provides for consolidation of monthly electricity bills for all electricity connections held by a single applicant under ABP, covering Telecom Service Providers, Infrastructure Providers (IP-I), Bharat Broadband Network implementation agencies and other authorised implementing agencies, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and reconciliation procedures.
All concerned engineers of the Electricity Department are directed to take immediate action to implement these measures and expedite electricity service connections for ABP. The notification has been issued with the approval of the Government of Goa vide U.O. No. 5976/F dated August 26, 2026 and comes into force with immediate effect.
